With Trevor Donovan’s Teddy leaving 90210 next season, it stands to reason that Freddie Smith, who played his prom date Marco, will follow suit.

Fear not, fans of gay characters on TV, for It looks like the actor is headed to daytime.

Smith has been tapped to gay up Days of Our Lives beginning next week, playing Sonny, a good-natured young man who returns home to Salem to join his family.

Bold move for the traditionally conservative soap, especially in these when the genre seems to be dying.
